Mary’s Monday Musings to Quilt Encouragement

Heart Breaking

The news wasn’t good. Reports brought serious concerns, coming from two locations on nearly opposite sides of the world. Friends and family far and wide read daily accounts with mounting apprehension. Immediate prayer provided the best way to deal with the progressively alarming physical symptoms experienced by these dearly loved women—two women whose lives were wonderful examples of Godly living, who were loved by so many. Women we wanted to keep among us. Earnest prayers brought comfort both for the people praying and the ones who were the objects of the prayer. Modern ways to communicate allowed a vast throng to participate in informed prayers for our loved ones. How blessed we were to have that privilege.

We each grieve in our own ways, sad to lose our friends on this earth, virtually on the same day. But a mental image of these lovely women rejoicing before the throne of God, perhaps side by side after all the years that geography separated them brings a smile. Considering the joy of our friends brings a peace despite our grief and sadness. How magnificent is our God who calms the storms of sickness and death and carries us through the trials of life.
