Coloring

Most children enjoy coloring with crayons or colored pencils. All children are exposed to many opportunities to color because this activity provides so many different aspects of learning.  They learn about different colors and eventually about shades of colors.  Coloring improves coordination. They learn how to make their hands move in response to the brain’s desires. Coloring can create a sense of accomplishment. Now days, there are lots of coloring books with all kinds to themes aimed to entice adults to color. Themes vary from historical places to military equipment to domestic items and from flowers to attractively penned squiggles to illustrate Bible verses. Even adults find satisfaction from applying colors inside the lines of a printed picture to make it lovely and find a moment of accomplishment. You name it, there’s a coloring book for it: airplanes, trains, animals, sea creatures, even Bible verses are illustrated, appealing to a wide assortment of interests.

Take advantage of one that appeals to you to find some moments of relaxation, to immerse yourself in some minutes in which to forget problems, or to just plain enjoy a long-ago pleasure.  Maybe coloring a simple coloring book might lead you to discover some unsuspected talent God planted in you which can bring you satisfaction. Maybe a well chosen coloring book might make just the right gift at just the right time to bless someone else.
