A Police Museum

The museum was small, an old gasoline station repurposed and full of memorabilia to bring better understanding of the life and dangers of the police. One wall contained painted portraits of those brave officers who lost their lives serving their community. It also contained evidence of the policemen’s effort to connect with their citizens. One enormous bear on a tricycle was used to visit schools and make friends with little children, helping them learn about the police’s helpful role in their community.

Many relics from yesteryear attract interest such as a call box which was used to check in and report problems. These artifacts gave grown-up visitors an increased appreciation for our modern technology. From the old days to our more modern times, brave, valiant people have put their lives on the line to ensure others a safe environment to pursue their livelihoods, their recreation, and their freedoms. All tributes to the police of by-gone years or those currently serving aren’t enough for what they contribute to our society.

It is fitting to thank God for His provision of good police to our society. God help us remember to thank you for the good police you give our communities. Help us keep our minds open to also thank you for other professions which make our lives better. Give us grateful hearts for all the roles in our country that provide our abundant daily blessings.
